Bathrooms are often one of the main areas of contention when sharing with others. Sometimes there can be multiple people all vying for precious cabinet space, and before you know it, there are about 100 half-empty shampoo bottles balanced along the edge of the bath and no one knows who they belong to.
If you only have the corner of the bath and one small shelf in the cabinet to store your things, here are some organisational tips.
Define your space clearly

You can do this by using baskets, trays or caddies. This groups all of your belongings together and ensures nothing will fall out of the cabinet and scatter everywhere.
It also reduces tension between housemates as they won’t have to move your things to find their toothbrush in the mornings.
Keep your shower area streamlined
Use a shower caddy or corner organiser to store your things. Investing in a hanging shower shelf and dividing up the space reduces clutter on the shower basin.
Store products vertically

This is sometimes overlooked but really effective. To maximise space in a small bathroom, consider storing products vertically using shelving or stackable organisers. Vertical storage is prime real estate space is limited.
Create a simple routine reset
This is more bathroom sharing etiquette than anything but make sure you wipe everything down after you’re done. A quick wipe down after you’re done can go a long way, whether that’s removing hair from the plug hole, mopping up water, or clearing soap smears.
Add small calming touches
If you have the space, consider investing in a plant or two. If space is really limited then some nice matching soap dishes or matching caddies keep things looking sleek.
Sharing a bathroom is rarely anyone’s dream scenario, but small systems can make daily routines feel calmer and more respectful for everyone.
